Our Vehicles For Rent In Cheshire

The best vehicle for your trip depends on the size of your group and the anticipated use. A young couple or small group traveling lightly may find a mini such as the Toyota Aygo or an economy Opel Corsa to be their best option. Conversely, large families with luggage or planning a Cheshire shopping trip might prefer a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) or people carrier - choices include the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer, Volkswagen Sharan or Ford Galaxy. We will also be delighted to help you select from a compact but ample Vauxhall Astra or Ford Focus, a full-size Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Insignia (Diesel) for airport runs, and our 4x4 rental vehicles (including the Nissan X-Trail or Honda CR-V) are ideal for driving in the Cheshire countryside. Finally, premium car options include Mercedes Benz C or E-Class sedans, in addition to the BMW 3 or 5 series.

Attractions In Cheshire

A car is the quickest and most convenient way to get around and see this diverse county which has so many points of interest for the visitor to enjoy; from woodland picnics to market towns, to shopping centers and stylish restaurants. Chester is the country capital of Cheshire and the city has something to interest almost everyone – markets, designer shops, cobbled streets, a racecourse and museum, as well as a thousand-year-old cathedral.

This historic Roman city and the surrounding area boast so many local attractions that it would be difficult to see everything in just one visit. To see Chester in perspective, a stroll around the ancient but well-preserved walls gives a bird's-eye view of this ancient fortress. One should not miss The Rows, delightful covered walkways inside timbered Tudor-style buildings, which date back seven hundred years and now house shopping arcades.

The south Wirral peninsula also forms part of Cheshire. Here, with views over the marshes towards North Wales, the botanic gardens at Ness are run by the University of Liverpool and open to the public. Greenhouses, footpaths, grassy slopes and lawns with ornate flower beds provide an enjoyable afternoon out. Renting a car opens up options such as Tatton Park with its Tudor hall, farm and landscaped gardens, or Delamere forest - ideal for nature walks and picnics. For motor racing enthusiasts, the picturesque racing circuit of Oulton Park can be found near Tarporley.

The nearby market towns of Neston and Frodsham offer fresh local produce and appetising dishes to sample in the area's popular restaurants. Located between Chester and Ellesmere Port and easily reached via the A41 main road or M56/M53 motorways, the Cheshire Oaks designer clothing outlet is a magnet for shoppers. Featuring a broadly square route, this was the first such UK retail venture of its type for high-street favorites and iconic fashion. Finally, other points of interest include the famous football clubs of Liverpool and Manchester, while the Ellesmere Port canal boat museum offers an experience of yesteryear.

Places To Visit Outside Cheshire

Further north on the Wirral peninsula, the beaches from Heswall to West Kirby and Hoylake are worth a visit - or choose from scenic and tranquil villages set in beautiful countryside, with various gardens and farms open for public visits and guided trips. Alternatively, you may wish to explore east Denbighshire or Shrewsbury in the neighboring county of Shropshire. An excellent road network to North Wales means that the Welsh coast and a number of castles are within relatively easy reach, such as Flint, Conway and Caernarfon.

Airport Car Rental

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is situated at Speke, in neighboring Merseyside. Additionally, Manchester Ringway Airport is easily reached via a motorway drive in the direction of Altrincham. Both of these regional airports offer domestic and international flights and have Enterprise branches.

Parking And Traffic Information In Cheshire

The county is served by the M6, M53 and M56 motorways and a well-planned road network making traveling from A to B simple. Chester has a double ring-road system, while the centrally located town of Northwich boasts good road links to Macclesfield, Nantwich and Stockport. However, higher ground eastwards towards the Pennine mountains may be subject to winter snowfall and slow traffic.

Ample paid parking is signposted within Chester city center. Other towns throughout the county do also tend to charge in their busy centers. With a degree of perseverance, free on-road parking can sometimes be located although the duration may be limited to an hour or two.
